What is BREATHE?

BREATHE’s aims for for better air, transport, health and environment in Winchester District.

By reducing air pollution to safer levels, we will help do our share towards keeping global warming under 2 degrees, the global commitment from the Paris Climate Conference. We will also help people to stay healthier, and they make economic sense too.

How will BREATHE help?

More and more, research is shows that it's easier for individual people to change how they behave to tread more lightly on the planet if we can change the world we live in – the infrastructure which affects how we live our lives.

Policy-makers, politicians, public institutions and business can make changes to shape a better world. Everyone who backs BREATHE can take part in deciding what we ask.

Here are a few examples of changes in Winchester District that BREATHE could call for:

  • More pedestrian areas to reduce air pollution, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help people stay healthy
  • A coherent planned approach to public transport so that people can live their lives without needing a car
