The Food action group aims to promote community food growing and stop food being wasted. For more information contact food@winacc.org.uk.

There is an alternative to our industrial food system. In Our Hands shows how farmers in the UK are reconnecting people, food and the land we stand on. A new, smaller-scale, agricultural landscape is emerging, one that will bring back life to the soil, a fair wage to the farmer and a flavour to the tomato. The future is in our hands.

The film screening, which will be follwed by a discussion, will accompany the University of Winchester's multimedia climate change exhibition which will be on display in The Stripe from 3-10pm on Saturday 3 February.

Ruth Davis, Head of Policy at the RSPB, is speaking at this event organised by the Centre for English Identity and Politics at the University of Winchester.

Many have argued that the idea of Englishness is bound up with ideas of landscape and countryside that are backward looking, nostalgic and have little relevance to the future. In contrast, Ruth Davis, a leading figure in the green movement, argues that understanding the deep connections between ourselves, where we live and our environment are key to mobilising popular support for sustainability and tackling climate change.

WinACC Waste Group's first meeting of 2018.

Hampshire Climate Action Network is an informal way for local groups to share ideas and collaborate. Meetings take place every six months and are open to people active on climate change in their community.  "Hampshire" includes the county and also Southampton and Portsmouth.
