Meeting highlights included the wide range of actions connected to the Paris Climate Conference including a joint press release, potential action to influence the Hampshire County Council Pension Scheme, an invite to the Chief Executive of the County Council to talk to HCAN and devolution.

Main agenda areas were

  • Local and national action on Paris Climate Conference, including the many events which are happening, efforts to get the message out and what happens afterwards. A joint press release will be issued to promote what is going on.

  • Hampshire-wide action such as influencing the County Pension Scheme, writing to the new Chief Executive of Hampshire, and getting climate change into devolution. Devolution will be a key item on the next spring agenda

  • Energy activity to help householders out their the carbon footprint o their homes

  • Electricity consumption in Hampshire (domestic v. commercial). Bob Whitmarsh from Winchester gave a brief talk about his analysis of DECC data. Would we get more effect for effort by focussing on organisations, not homes?
