All over the world, people are pressing for a binding global agreement to cut emissions and reduce the rate of global warming.

In that context, the Right Reverend Tim Dakin, Bishop of Winchester, says: “I am pleased to support Winchester Action on Climate Change and the important work which they are doing to raise awareness of the need to tackle climate change."

"The Diocese of Winchester’s links with our overseas partner dioceses, including in Myanmar, have shown us the global impact of climate change, particularly on some of the world’s most vulnerable people. As Christians we believe that  being good stewards of God’s creation is an important part of our Christian mission, and so, as a Diocese, we will continue to look for ways to reduce our carbon footprint. For example, we are working to install solar panels on as many of our vicarages as possible. We  also encourage our parishes to participate in a Diocesan Environmental Award scheme.”
