University of Winchester Vice-chancellor Joy Carter says universities need to do more to educate students in an article for Times Higher Education.

Assuming that young people are aware of and understand the issues surrounding climate change is a mistake says Professor Carter. In "It’s time to wake up and smell the greenhouse gases" she argues University Vice Chancellors should use their power to influence future generations to ensure students learn about climate change and how whatever their area of study they can contribute to finding solutions.

A patron of WinACC, Professor Carter has a background in the field of Environmental Geochemistry with a particular interest in environmental pollution and the impacts to health.
