Winchester City Council submitted Winchester District Local Plan Part 2 – Development Management and Site Allocations on 23 March 2016 for examination. The next step is that a Planning Inspector will conduct hearings into the matters he/she wishes to explore, to determine whether or not the plan is ‘sound’.

Local Plan Part 2 covers the allocation of smaller sites for development across the Winchester District (excluding the part that lies in the South Downs National Park), together with a suite of development management policies which will be used to determine planning applications.

The Council has appointed a programme officer who will act on behalf of the inspector. See the Council's webpages for her contact details, together with all the submission documentation.

Details of dates and matters to be discussed at the examination will also be posted on this website when these are known.

A paper copy of the submission Local Plan, together with a CD of supporting documentation can be inspected at Winchester City Council Offices, Colebrook Street, Winchester, SO23 9LJand at local libraries within and adjoining the Winchester District including  Stanmore Community Library at the Carroll Centre, Alresford Library, Bishops Waltham Library, Waterlooville Library,  Eastleigh Library and Fareham.
