The work of Sparsholt College has been recognised with the award of the Winchester City Council Green Business of the Year title at the Winchester Business Excellence awards.

The award is given to businesses who either produce greener products or services, or demonstrate how they operate in an increasingly sustainable way.

A further and higher education college, Sparsholt provides primarily countryside-based courses for more than 1900 full-time and 3000 part-time students. The college has an excellent record for looking at opportunities to make its own operations more sustainable and give students a chance to learn about green technologies. It is currently working with Ecotricity to build an anaerobic digester on its site
