Link to an excellent video by the Centre for Sustainable Energy on how to programme your thermostat.

Video clip opens in YouTube.

General advice to save energy:

  • Programme the heating to go off about half an hour before you go out and at night, and to come on just before you wake up and just before you come home.
  • Draw curtains at dusk to keep heat in the house.
  • Use insulation around doors and windows to keep the heat in the home.

See excellent advice from Energy Saving Trust about all heating controls in the home.
