Hampshire County Council is looking to cut £140 million from its budget by April 2019.This is in addition to £340 million savings already delivered over the last nine years. The council’s “Serving Hampshire – Balancing the Budget” consultation presents all possible options for making savings but sets out high-level, strategic options only, and is not proposing specific changes to services as yet.

Residents and stakeholders are invited to respond to the consultation online. The survey closes on 21 August. Note that while the multiple choice questions are somewhat limiting, there is a space at the very end for free text so you can say whatever you want to.

WinACC encourages all local residents to take part and encourage the County Council to make climate change a top priority in deciding where cuts will fall.

A detailed Information Pack, providing important background information to the consultation, is available on the County Council’s website.
