Activities

The Science and Technology Advisory Panel (STAP)

  • provides up-to-date information, advice and documentation on scientific and technological matters to WinACC
  • works with other WinACC groups in areas of mutual interest where STAP’s scientific knowledge and opinion is useful
  • reviews information from WinACC such as presentations and web materials for scientific accuracy
  • publishes on climate change.
It is also working with Winchester City Council to measure and reduce Winchester district's carbon footprint.

Climate science

Heimat is the overall title of several series of films in 32 episodes written and directed by Edgar Reitz which view life in Germany between 1919 and 2000 through the eyes of a family from the Hunsrück area of the Rhineland.

La Grande Bouffe is a 1973 French–Italian film directed by Marco Ferreri. It stars Marcello Mastroianni, Ugo Tognazzi, Michel Piccoli and Philippe Noiret.

Richard Fleischer directed this nightmarish science fiction vision of an over-populated world, based on the novel by Harry Harrison. In 2022, New York City is a town bursting at the seams with a 40-million-plus population.
