Ofgem has approved a number of online energy company comparison services through the Ofgem Confidence Code - a good place to look when comparing home energy deals to save money and energy.

Local company ExpertEnergy will offer a 10% discount off all prices as advertised on their website, plus give a donation to WinACC for the referral. ExpertEnergy provide home energy and thermal imaging surveys for homeowners and similar services to businesses.

Finding reliable suppliers

One of the main challenges of upgrading the energy performance of your home is to find a supplier that you can trust.  Many suppliers can struggle to keep pace with all the changes in technology and government schemes and not all suppliers are as reputable as we would like them to be.

Good places to start

In 2012, Elliotts opened a new Sustainable Product Centre with working displays showing how they have incorporated renewables, energy saving and water saving products into their own business.

Many people ask WinACC how to pick a good supplier. We can't recommend a supplier but here is a (not complete) list of local photovoltaic suppliers. To be on this, a supplier must meet WinACC's minimum standards.
