The UK is committed to keeping global warming well below 2°C, as well as to cutting emissions by 80% by 2050 relative to 1990.

These targets can only be achieved if immediate action is taken by governments at all levels, including at local government level, and by individuals and businesses.

The Campaign for Better Transport (CBT) are petitioning the Government for recent funding announced on roads to be available to spend on all roads, not just major roads.

The results from a new report suggest that toxic air pollution is a problem in far more places than the government has admitted.

Winchester Councillors assured Chris Holloway of WinACC at the Cabinet meeting on 12 June that all parties backed the Council's commitment to reduce the carbon footprint of the proposed new leisure facilities to as close to zero as financially and technically feasible, in respect of the use of the whole site, its construction, running emissions and user travel emissions.

WinACC looked to all political parties to commit to Britain’s leadership role on climate change and spell out what that means in their 2017 election manifestos.
